"The five elements; Fluorine (F), Chlorine (Cl), Bromine (Br), Iodine (I) and Astatine (At) belonging to VII A Group of the modern periodic table are collectively referred as halogens".
True. Intake of the other halogens will replete iodine. Lack of iodine is a known cause of hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism causes low metabolism which in turn can cause a long list of symptoms throughout the body.
As Hashimoto's is an autoimmune disease, the question is if hypothyroidism and Hashimoto's are both being caused by iodine deficiency.
Iodine, as is ClO2, is an oxidant that does many, if not most, of the same things as ClO2.
ClO2 may have halogen-like properties. There actually was a study done on rats that showed ClO2 to lower thyroid function.
I myself always experience my voice disappearing when on MMS, a typical symptom of hypothyroidism.
I always continue to supplement with iodine (+ selenium for converting T4 o T3) after done with MMS treatment. Then my voice returns after some time. Without iodine my voice stays weak for months.
I still use MMS because you can use more of it than iodine so that MMS becomes much more effective short term. But I think it may be wise to start on iodine after completed MMS protocols, or maybe alternate the two for long term treatment.
Since the immune system itself generates hypochlorous acid (MMS2) to fight off pathogens, also a possible halogen. I think it is about balance more than avoiding MMS if you have thyroid issues.
Sulfur is no halogen but is also said to interfere with iodine uptake. This may include DMSO, STS, and maybe even garlic. Both sulfur and iodine are essential minerals but have been advised not to be taken at the same time (two hour window or more).
Consuming cruciferous veggies is another way of disrupting iodine uptake. And the erucic fatty acid in rape seed oil (a cruciferous plant) is known to cause thyroid damage, in addition to dissolve myelin, potentially causing all kinds of neurodegenerative diseases.
In the old days thyroid issues got remedied by eating the thyroid of various animals.
Many autoimmune diseases have been connected to vaccines. There may be things in vaccines that are being assimilated in us. Maybe monkey kidney or calf serum proteine, which are known vaccine ingredients. Besides of a long list of other snake oils. Our white blood cells signaling "a problem" would need to "eat away" tissue to get to it for eliminating whatever is there, causing inflammation by means of oxidation of surrounding tissue..
Interesting about the possible endocrine - thyroid issue connection Chris. Glyphosate (round-up) is a known endocrine disruptor. Glyphosate, snake oil of the devil itself, is found in urine tests all over the globe. ClO2 is known to help break down glyphosate. Iodine, being an oxidant, may as well.
And scary if radiation also depletes iodine. All signs of us in need of more supplements today than just a few decades ago.
Sorry all for lack of documentation on all of the above claims. The key words can all be used to do your own research.
