This may be slightly off topic but I know something about Molokai and the plant diseases that are such a problem there and in other warm places (like Southern Blight on ginger) We have a friend who has farmed biodynamically there for 20 years or so. Anyhow, as an organic farmer, I'm interested in possible applications of MMS to food plants. Have you tried this? I know that for us when we grow a fungus-free crop of something it also resists insects. The plants are stronger and the insects go looking for something weaker to devour. And if the fungus can't develop immunity to it, then MMS could help feed the world as well as keep us well! I haven't tried it yet as I'm not sure about the technical legality of doing it with certified organic vegetables. But I may use it in the greenhouse this winter anyway, as with the lower light conditions we always get mildew.

Aloha Lori...are your friends in Waialua? If so, we know them well and use their produce....
Yes, we have had success with plants, but before giving you any specific direction we want to run this carefully by Jim first...

The farm is run by Ellen Sugawara and they're on the east side on or I guess southeast is more like it. Anyway, I'm not sure about where Waialua is! But I'm so happy they get to have someone on the island who knows about MMS! I was wondering how in the heck I was going to get them some, since Keavy's doesn't ship off the mainland....
