I live "out in the boonies;" and, wasps are a problem every year; esp. since my door stays open for my dogs to come in and out. Last summer, I ran inside to get from an organizer on the far side of my bed. I was in a hurry; and, it didn't even occur to me to look before I put my hand on my pillow to brace myself to reach across. BIG MISTAKE!!! I got popped on pad of my hand right below the thumb!!! It felt like I'd just put my hand on a hot coal! I grabbed my MMS1 kit, mixed 2 drops in my glass cup and slapped the stung part of my hand over it. Within 2 minutes, the pain was TOTALLY GONE. Within 5 minutes, every bit of swelling was gone. The only evidence of having been stung was the little hole, with what might've been part of the stinger sticking out. I scraped that away with a razor knife; and, went back to what I'd been doing. I'm not "allergic;" but, the few times I've been stung in the past, it's meant an uncomfortable couple of days. In my opinion, MMS (of all varieties) needs to be part of EVERY first aid kit! If a person IS allergic to stings like this, they should carry it with them all the time. I don't what side-effects atropine has; and, I'm not comfortable telling people to toss it; but, if I was allergic to stings, I'd certainly try the MMS1 first and save the atropine for if I really needed it, anyway. For those of us who aren't allergic to stings, why bother with even a couple of days of discomfort when it's so easily dealt with???

Wow, so you did the fume protocol? Or did you actually get the activated drops on the sting? Was there any water in the cup?

That's great to know - I know that JH has stated that for bee stings, just to use the inactivated MMS - the alkalinity will offset the acid in the bee sting - but I love having all kinds of options in my health kit.

Hi Pam, It was shortly after I'd gotten my first kit; and, even though I'd read Jim's book, I'd done so in about 2 days and primarily from the standpoint of treating (what I thought at the time to be "just") a tumor in one of my dog's spleen. (I found out later that it was actually hemangiosarcoma...) I was pretty scrambled back then, from exhaustion and worry. I activated 2 drops; and, I can't remember if I swirled it for 20 seconds before or after I slapped my hand over the top of the cup. It was the fumes, rather than putting it onto the sting. No water was added, though.

Hi Steve, That's really great to know! I used to live in Tx; and, had more than one encounter with those nasty critters!!! I don't know if I'll make it back down there in this life; but, I know I sure wish I'd known this back in the '80's. You'll save a lot of folks a lot of misery by having posted this. For those of us who use 50% solution, do you think that it would work as well, better, or be too strong? When you say quickly, what kind of time frame are referring to?

Great share this, and MMS works well for all the bug bites and stings we have encountered locally, even spider bites. I read somewhere recently that even snake bites can be treated with ingestion and using a spray on the location, but I don't remeber the actual recommendations. We have pretty nasty snakes here and I would not mind gearing up my knowledge on snake bite options.
