If you mean to ingest unactivated MMS and let stomach acid activate it, that is what Jim Humble was doing when he gave stabilized oxygen to the workers who had malaria in 1996.

If you put MMS into potable water and wait for it to activate, apparently that works, too. But if the potable water is alkaline, you wonder how could it activate MMS.

MMS is very alkaline, about pH 14 I think. So, if you put MMS in water that is pH 7, the difference in pH may be enough to cause some slow activation of MMS.

thanks for the reply!
So is 1 drop of MMS for 1 gallon of water enough for a pool?
And how long would that protect the pool - for how many days would I have to add MMS again?
How long does the MMS expire if it is in the refrigerator or if it is not in the refrigerator?

How much MMS is needed would be determined by the type and amount of pathogens that are in the water. You would need to test the water to see if it is safe to drink.

MMS at room temperature seems to be effective for 18 months, as I have noted. Should last longer in a fridge.

thanks!
It was said that 1 drop of MMS is needed for 1 gallon of water.
But I'm wondering if I have to put MMS in the pool every day, or maybe once a week .... a month ??
How quickly does the sun destroy it, or does the air destroy it?
Or ourselves when we swim in the pool?
thanks

Marti, the only way to know when to add more CLO2 to water is by testing. Years ago there was a swimming pool on the property where I was living and I remember always testing the water. As I recall, there was an automatic chlorine injection system to continually add chlorine to the water.

i know chlorination.
But I would love to have healthy bathing water and would do it with MMS.
But it can be measured.
I have testers for chlorine, but what about MMS

To test for CLO2 use CLO2 test strips. This is the high range, but they also have low range, which is probably what you would use.
