Yes it's a great idea! Then I thought about using E45 cream as a carrier/base. It's cheap, neutral, available and appears to be absorbed into the skin easily and appears to be water/MMS soluble. That's the upside - the downside is how to apply it to a red raw hoof of a cow!! UPSIDE!! - that's my friends problem.
Now he has two options 1. a spray and 2. a cream/ointment. According to the skin care protocol 20 drops activated MMS in a 2oz spray bottle will last 3 days and I am assuming (for the momement) that will hold true for E45. Either way i don't imagine he will be making batches of spray or ointment that he can't use in 3 days or even a day for that matter, so that's not a problem.
Thoughts in progress:-
Calcium Hypochlorite as a foot-bath. I came across this prepper site post
survivaltopics.com/better-than-bleach-use-calcium-hypochlorite-to-disinfect-water/
Which appears to suggest that Calcium Hypochlorite has many advantages over Sodium Hypochlorite as a water purifier, not least of which is it's cost/effectiveness and shelf life.
What I'm thinking is if a 200,000 litre swimming pool can be purified with a $50 tub of shock pool cleaner then a 200 litre foot-bath and maybe the whole farm-yard area can be done as well (maybe on a rainy day).
Spent the day mixing MMS, buying spray bottles and thinking. I will meet with my friend tomorrow and I'll sound like I know what I am talking about and take it from there.
I will report back. (On a side note he said "If you sort out Digital Dermatitis you'll be farting through silk shorts") -We'll see!!
