Calcium hypochlorite (MMS2) turns into hypochlorous acid (HCl) when dissolved in water. it doesn't take away the already existing (HCl) in the body. Calcium hypochlorite (MMS2) becomes hypochlorous acid (HCl) which is used by the body to kill pathogens, micro-organisms.
Hypochlorous acid is HClO, not HCl.
So, in order to use Hypochlorous acid, HClO, do we need HCL or not in our body??
The Wikipedia says: "HClO reacts with HCl to form chlorine gas: HClO + HCl = H2O + Cl2"
Wikipedia also states: "HClO is a stronger oxidant than chlorine under standard conditions" so would it be better to have plenty of water in the stomach and not much HCl to get the oxidising effect of HClO and no or little chlorine gas or does the chlorine gas dissolve in the water to form the Hypochlorous acid. Help please, I am not a Chemist:-)
