Topic Author Offline New Member Posts: 17 Thank you received: 2	Hi, I have been storing sodium chlorite & Hcl since I received it last year in the mail, in a dark, cool & dry place. I've kept it in it's original plastic container. But, would it have been better if I transferred it into a glass bottle for storage?. I don't think it has BPA so that's good. But Im just worried about plastic particles getting into the solutions. What do you all think? Thank you!

The sodium chlorite is in the resealable bag it came in. The 24% solution is also in 1 quart vinegar glass bottle. Fran

Glass is always best to store any of the chemicals we use.

Sodium Chlorite Solution (SCS) begins to lose potency at about 18 months when stored at room temperature.
HCL seems to last about 3 years.

Sodium chlorite flakes / powder can last 20 years or longer, if stored properly.
For an acid that has a long storage life, consider buying organic citric acid crystals as they can last at least 12 years, I have found.

I know that using citric acid when making MMS1 is not the best for some people, so consider making CDS and adding sodium chlorite solution drops to CDS to increase the CLO2 dosage following Protocol-102.

You can make 3000ppm CDS using one of the Quick CDS methods in about 3 hours time.

MMS (Master Mineral Solution) is Sodium Chlorite 28% (22.4% Sodium Chlorite, 5.6% Inert Salts and the remainder water) plus an acidic activator (usually 50% Citric Acid or 4% Hydrochloric Acid) when combined produces Chlorine Dioxide.
