Hi. I'm on day 6 of Protocol 1000 to eliviate my body from Hashimoto's Thyroiditis or hypothyroidism. I can only ingest a 2 drop dose of MMS1, anything above that causes the Herxheimer effect. The past two days I have been having symptoms of hypothyroidism. Chills, sweats, fatigue, brain fog and depression. At this point I don't know if I should continue on Protocol 1000 or stop taking MMS all together. Has anyone else gone through this? If so, any advice? All responses are greatly appreciated and needed. Feeling kinda discouraged.

You are overdosing. Slow down. Did you begin taking MMS1 by following the Starting Procedure? Following the Three Golden Rules?

Oh my! Yes, l started with the starting procedure and then increased by .5 a drop until I got up to 3 drop per dose. I quickly backed down to 2 drops per dose when I started having the ill effects. I thought I was doing better at the 2 drop dose until late yesterday and I got sick all over again. I am confused to if I should slowly ween myself off my thyroid medicine while increasing my dose. Maybe I should seek the advise of a alternative medicine professional before resuming Protocol 1000. Thank you so much for responding to my question.

There is no reason to try to reach 3 drop MMS1 doses if your body won't tolerate such a high dosage!

That is not the goal of following Protocol 1000.

The goal is to get well from your ailment.

Protocol 1000 says the MAXIMUM number of hourly drops of MMS1 is THREE. If you can't take 3 or 2 drops without becoming sicker than you already are, then REDUCE dosage!

Some people have recovered from stage 4 cancers taking only 1/2 drop hourly MMS1 doses.

Heed the Three Golden Rules.

You are overdosing.

Hi DeboraK,
I also have Hashimoto's. I haven't started yet, but I'm in the process of doing so. I have taken many other alternative protocols over the years. Long story short, in addition to what CLO2 recommends, might I suggest you get your thyroid hormone blood levels checked. I've experienced symptoms of hypo when I was over medicated. My endocrinologist said this is common, including weight gain, which is typically a symptom of hypo, not hyper. As you heal, you may need to adjust your thyroid meds and eventually, hopefully be free of them.

Thanks for the response. I have an appointment to get my levels checked in mid August so I backed off MMS until then. I hope my endocrinologist is open to the idea of MMS otherwise I will change to a alternative doctor to monitor my progress. Good luck on your MMS journey and keep me posted!

Personally, I don't tell my Drs about my alternative therapies, unless or until I know they work, but that's me. Good luck! I see my endo this week so I'll have a baseline. My thyroid has improved over the past several years while I was on another protocol, but I have other autoimmune issues I believe the CDS protocol will clear up as well.

I read that the treatment for hyperthyroidism is the starting / sensitive protocol only. It's probably the same for hypothyroid. As the previous commenter stated, you are probably doing too much. I am going to start next week for hypothyroid. I am going to use the starting protocol for 4 weeks.

Do you take any thyroid meds while using the protocol? I'm new to MMS and in the research stage.
