Hi everybody.
I want to try CDS. I have got NaClO2, but have questions about HCl. I could get technical grade, but I cannot get food grade HCl. I am kind of afraid because the internet is telling me for example this: "Technical grade is used for commercial and industrial purposes; however, like many others, it is not pure enough to be offered for food, drug, or medicinal use of any kind." Maybe this is irrelevant information, when using HCl as an activator for CDS, but I just want to be sure there's nothing to worry about.
Can anyone please confirm to me that creating CDS using HCl in technical grade (contains e.g. heavy metals, etc.) is safe and will not cause any harm or side effects? Couldn't the impurity in the HCl also react with the NaClO2 to form some harmful components?

Thank you BillPopMMS

I have read "Forbidden Health" from A.Kalcker, have searched on the internet quite a lot and I wonder that NOBODY is talking about. I wrote to the email that Mr.Kalcker has on his page and the reply from his team was: "Don't worry Any HCL will do CDS (Its only the gas in the water)". But I'm of the same opinion that everything I take in should be as pure as possible. And as you said: When using HCl only in technical grade, WHY can't there be OTHER created gases intermixed with the ClO2??
I live in Georgia (a country in the Caucasus). I discussed it also with my friend - pharmacist and he confirmed that in Georgia it is not possible to get food grade HCl. Only if we order it from somewhere else. It looks like HCl in food grade quality is here in Georgia not needed. And it seems to me as if no one here has heard of CDS or MMS yet. I am the first one :)

All the best
