@marti

CLO2 says 5% would make a slightly stronger CDS concentrate.

That's the way my components came from Germany via The Netherlands. It wasn't worth the hassle to dilute the HCL from 5% to 4%.

Once these components are used up I will start using CLO2's quick CDS method using 80% sodium chlorite flakes and ctrus acid powder to make CDS.

Hi Jim

That looks like a much better balance of ingredients and the NaClO₂ will be fully activated. It looks like you should be able to get about 6000ppm with these quantities.

I am not convinced from the Amazon description that the actual final NaClO₂ concentration is 25% not least because to achieve this from standard technical grade 80% powder, you would need to make a 31.25% solution of that powder whereas 25% of the powder provides a final concentration of 20% NaClO₂. If this is the case the final CDS will be closer to 5000ppm … and you could dial back on the acid to 15ml.

Attached are a couple of calculations. The concentrations are maximum theoretical and, depending on time, temperature air volume, leakage, etc will only be partially achieved. In one sense this is not important because in use you will be adjusting dose in accordance to how you react to it … but it is good to have a reasonable ballpark figure!

Why can you not use the Apple spreadsheets? You don't need an Apple device, just a web browser. You will need an iCloud account but that is free and easy to set up. The link to set up a new iCloud account is small, light grey and far down the page.

@Andy In Hawick

Thank you very much for your feed back.

So I just ran two strength tests again using Inst-test strips.

The first test was a 30 to 1 (29 ml of water and 1 ml of CDS concentrate) and strrring the test strip for 5 seconds and then letting it sit for 10 seconds and it came back as over 100 on the PPM bars on the Insta-test container.

The second test was a 60 to 1 (59 ml of water and 1 ml of CDS concentrate) and strrring the test strip for 5 seconds and then letting it sit for 10 seconds and it came back as over 50 and less than 100 on the PPM bars on the Insta-test container.

So my final CDS concentrate should be well over 3,000 PPM.

So my first batch (which you commented on earlier in this thread) was well under 3,000 PPM, maybe even under 2,000 PPM.

I'm in my fourth week of AK's protocol C and started this past Monday using this latest batch at 20 ml per liter. I have now moved up to 24 ml per liter.

So, based on your calculations and my testing today I could actually be consuming 50% more than I think I am.

All of this without the benefit of a CDS photometer like CLO2 uses for her testing of course.

TIA,
Jim
